Nuggets for the Week
- When you don't have much to give...
- don't look at what you don't have but what you have in order to serve
- sometimes we discount/disqualify what we have to offer neglecting to look at Christ, our Provider
Reflections
- Is it easier for me to give when I have a lot? or not enough?
- It's a matter of the heart
- What have you done with what I have given you?
- When you don't know what to do seek God's counsel?
Key Takeaway for the Body
- God doesn't withhold all of Himself
- Let us serve without getting caught in the trap or comparison
- If the widow compared what she gave with others she could have been discouraged or withhold her offering or what she had to give
- comparing against others can increase fear or diminish the beauty of what others have to give
- God commanding us is the same as compelling us to meet the need knowing that He has already made provisions (resources) and the ability (grace) to do
- Having a willing ness to respond and give it to God, He provides
- He is going to teach us how to move or not move by faith
- Unity in serving (there's a flow in serving) - function together, serve others, esteeming each other, seeing God in each other
- we can miss Jesus (grace) by comparig to others, offer up what Christ has given to us
