(The Passion Translation footnote vs. 31)
 Nuggets for the Week
  • Affect definition - meaning to influence or have an impact on something
  • Effect definition - the result of being affected by something, to bring about a change
  • Jesus' affect on Peter in John 21 effected the events in Acts 3 and 4.
  • It is not our choice to decide who hears the message, oly God decides who is ready to receive it (1 Samuel 16:7)
  • Truth may not be popular but it is needed (necessary)

Reflections
  • What affect has Jesus had on you?
  • What effect has Jesus had on you?
  • What affect is Jesus having on you?
  • What effect is Jesus having on you!
  • Who do you sound like?
  • What affect has Jesus had on you that would cause an effect around you?

 Key Takeaway for the Body
  • The Jesus Effect...
    1. caused Peter to be restored to his promise
    2. caused a man to receive healing
    3. cause many to believe
    4. brought the Gospel before various audiences
    5. caused Peter and John to choose to listen to God over man
    6. produced threts of intimidation
    7. set the disciples free
    8. caused them to speak with boldness
  • The message may  not always be easy to deliver but it will be received by those whose hearts are open
  • We just have to live and preach the message (Gospel of Jesus) with grace
  • The Jesus Effect will produce two different outcomes and we can't be afraid to share truths
