Sunday's Message, December 6, 2020 - Giving is part of Our Worship to the Lord

Hello Worshippers of God,

Sunday's message had us looking closely at what God deems as giving and how it is our act of worship.  Dive in and discover our motives for giving and does it lead to the advancement of the Kingdom.  God is requiring our ALL!

• Three Ts - 
• 1) Talent - natural or spiritual used is to serve others and honor God, 
• 2) Time - time spent in the Word, prayer, and serving others all to the glory of God,
• 3) Treasure - money and materials; lay your treasures in heaven
• How Not to Give
• 1) don't give a blemish offering (give the best), Mal. 1:8-9
• 2) don't give sparingly (as if your giving is helping God), 2 Cor. 9:6
• 3) don't give out of necessity (out of pressure)
• How to Give
• 2 Cor. 9:6-15 
• with a grateful heart
• gbountifully
• cheerfully
• 2 Cor. 8:12
• willing heart; seed is multiplied in righteousness; blessings are tied to givng (could be favor)
• will not lack breat to eat
• believers name will be happy
• others will praise God for us
• others will give God thakls for us (story of Dorcas; she rose up to continue her good work)
• giving the right way will be a blessing to others; give life to others
• 1 Kings 3:4 - God visited Soloman is a dream as a result of his giving and granted him wisdom.  10:1-13, Queen Sheba brought gifts to Solomon and was given more from him on her return home

• What price can be compared to the shed blood of Christ? (1 Peter 3:18)
• Does your heart honor God?
• Everything David did was to advance the Kingdom.  How are you or your giving advancing the Kingdom 
• What will people say about you or remember about you?

 Key Takeaway for the Body 

• Every believer is required to give all to the Lord, not holding back (Romans 12:1-2)
• Every gift is to gloryify God, bring others into the sheepfold, and be closer to God
• Giving = spirit + soul + body
• Deal with the spirit of debt
