Tuesday's Bible Study Message, June 8, 2021 - Being Kingdom Fit: Building Faith & Fire

 Hello Family of God,

Faith and fire both need active participation to exist.  Taking daily steps of faith despite how we may feel is pleasing to God.  Fanning the flames of a fire increases a deep, passionate love for God in our hearts.  Study below to see how to increase both activities in our walk with the Lord.

God Bless!

Scripture References & Highlights

Prayer for 2021:  This year will be a year of Light; that Light will shine and darkness will not dispel it.
In Jesus' Name

Message Scriptures
  • John 5:17
    • God is faithful and He is working
    • This should instill hope, courage and trust despite what it looks like (if we believe)
  • June vs. 20-21
    • we must do the work of knowing Him
  • Hebrews 6:1-3, 10, 9:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, Psalm 115:3
    • God is faithful to bring forth His desires for us
 Nuggets for the Week
  • Being Kingdom Fit
    • need for patience
    • resilience
    • perseverance
    • enduring hardship
    • being determined to work and grow
  • God keeps track of our work and progress even from dead works
  • Atrophy - to decrease in size, wasting away or decline.  If you don't increase your reps you can stop growing or fall into contentment or being apathetic, lack of interest, concern, indifference, complacency can occur subtlely over time without knowing.
  • Fire
    • can enhance someone else's experience
    • grows, transforms, consumes, burns up everything in it's path
    • if the fire isn't actively growing it is dying out
    • fire has a passion for pursuit but it must be fed
    • fire consumes what it is fed; it can't sustain itself unless being consistently fed
  • Fire has a mission to burn unless it is deprived of an opportunity to grow
  • Spiritual fire can dwindle down by worries, cares of this world, distractions etc.
  • Faith can also grow
  • We have to feed the fire of our hearts and help the fire in one another grow
  • Fire is always reaching out to extend it's flames
  • It's a reason why God's mercy is new every morning

Reflections
  • Warning = don't allow your faith to atrophy.  It's a choice!
  • The Father wants us to know if our fire is getting down and attend to it then.  There are spiritual indicators given by God all the time.
  • What do we do when we feel spiritually low?
    • do what we know to do and move forward one step at a time
    • little by little, daily choices
    • sow more to the spirit then the flesh
    • exercise one rep @ a time (prayer, reading, worship, loving others, etc.)
  • What sustains a fire is what we feed it.
  • We only get to grow and know as we respond
 Key Takeaway for the Body
  • To see Jesus shine through us, sometime we hold back looking for some confirmation instead of walking by faith.
  • Sometimes we can make it about us or miracles instead of about Jesus.  Wanting the miracles but not wanting the rejection that may come with the Word and Spirit
  • Putting into practice, by faith, those things we have learned
  • If our affections and loving God overtime doesn't increase, we can miss it all together.  This is a scary place to be, close to being lukewarm.
